Roger Staubach - Dallas Cowboys - custom McFarlane Sportspick figure
My customer was not happy with McFarlane's NFL Legends Staubach figure. I had to agree with him. When I first saw the pictures it looked like Staubach should be flying a kite or something. My customer wanted a more drop-back passing pose more fitting of Staubach.
I was able to salvage the head and legs from the original Staubach figure and with a torso/arm swap we came up with a great pose for Captain Comeback.

Hines Ward of the Gotham Rogues - Custom McFarlane figure inspired by The Dark Knight Rises
Inspired by the latest trailer for The Dark Knight Rises comes this custom Hines Ward figure. Meticulous detail has been be given to this figure. I scoured dozens of photos of set pictures to accurately portray Hines Ward in his Gotham Rogues uniform.
If you haven't seen the trailer yet, enemy Bane, seems to detonate a bomb in the football stadium as Hines Ward returns a kick off. This custom McFarlane figure depicts the moment from the trailer when Hines Ward turns around and witnesses the carnage. This is one of the few figures that I've made sans request.
James Harrison Slams Browns Fan - custom McFarlane sportspick figure
Click for original news story and video
It was Christmas Eve, 2005. Nathan Mallet sat about 20 rows up at midfield behind the Browns' bench as the Steelers pounded the Browns, 41-0, at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Worse, there were lots of Pittsburgh fans in his section.
"I had a little too much to drink,'' he said, "and one thing kind of led to another.''
Mallett somehow avoided security, dashed on to the field and bounced up and down, arms raised, as if he'd just scored a touchdown.
In mid-celebration, Harrison grabbed the 6-0, 200-pound Mallett from behind and body-slammed him to the turf like he was wrasslin' a steer.
This custom was just way to interesting to pass up. I love getting a good challenge and "moment in time" customs are my absolute favorite to work on.
Tim Tebow "Tebowing" - custom McFarlane sportspick figure
When the Tebow fever was at its highest, you saw TONS of "Tebowing" customs on eBay. 99% of them were poor repaints of the Brady kneeling pose with an arm swap. They were quick cash-ins at best.
I was very excited when I finally got a commission to do a custom Tim Tebow in his "Tebowing" pose. I took careful consideration when picking out each part for this figure to capture the pose and his likeness.

Custom OchoCinco McFarlane figure
After going through my photos, I realized I never posted this custom. I've always been an Ocho Cinco fan and a Chad Johnson fan. The guy brings a lot of fun to the NFL.
Custom Frank Gifford McFarlane figure
Here is my second custom of New York Giant's Frank Gifford. This is a little more flattering than my first attempt which showcased him knocked out by Bednarik. With the Tarkenton pose getting scarcer and more expensive, this may be one of my last customs in this pose. A shame, since this is such a versatile sculpt.

Custom McFarlane Figures: Herschel Walker, Tony Dorsett & Billy Cannon
One of my favorite customers has to be Jimmy Allison. Allison played for the San Diego Chargers in the mid to late sixties. Jimmy is always ordering old-school figures to compliment his growing collection of autographed full-sized replica helmets.
These are the newest additions to his collection:

Custom McFarlane: Jim Leonhard figures
I have a customer who is a HUGE fan of Jim Leonhard. How can you blame? Leonhard is a highly underrated player and just a great guy. A true footballer. This batch is go along with Wisconsin Badgers version I did a while back.
These figures represent Leonhard's professional career thus far; his rookie & sophomore season with the Buffalo Bills, his 1-year stint with the Ravens and his current role with the New York Jets. Leonhard is now a free-agent so we may see yet another figure in the future.
